EVAN GOODCHILD is an award-winning documentary film director/editor and Webby-nominated and Shorty Impact award-winning audio producer.
Goodchild’s documentaries have appeared on PBS, in film festivals, and in NYC gallery installations and art fairs. His recent work has set focus on museums and artists, from the work of muralist and painters of the Black Arts movement with “Art for the People: AfriCOBRA and Nelson Stevens” to his feature documentary debut with the “The Painted Life of Gregory Gillespie” (Audience award at Cannes International Film Week, Best Feature award at Boston.Doc and David Kleiler Cinephile award at Newburyport Doc Film Festival). He most recently directed "Heading Home", a short film that chronicles the history of the enslaved people of Marblehead Massachusetts during the Revolutionary war being brought to life through portraiture, which aired for America's 250th anniversary on GBH.
Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, Goodchild studied film and audio/radio at Emerson College. He teaches media production at UMass Amherst, produces podcasts for Yale University and the sustainability organization Commons, and his original music can be found on streaming services. He served as an audio curator and project producer for hitRECord for several years, a media production company founded by Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
